A proactive approach to new technologies and methodologies ensure we keep ahead in a constantly evolving market.
The CAR is highly resilient. Power is backed up by a UPS and generator, fibres connect the building via diverse routes, and equipment is protected by a gas fire suppression system.
There is plenty of rack space and wiring for additional equipment to be added to meet specific individual production requirements. EVS Cerebrum provides user friendly control of our broadcast systems.

PCR1 has a triple row configuration with space for 14 operational crew members.
Equipped with a Sony XVS-7000 vision mixer, Riedel 1200 series talkback panels, an Evertz digital clock and Sony Pro Bravia monitor stack.
This space is highly versatile to meet the requirements of productions of all sizes.
SCR1 has space for a Sound Supervisor, plus Sound Guarantee / Comms Engineer.
It is equipped with a Calrec Argo audio mixer and Riedel Director enables custom configuration of talkback panels for each user.
PCR2 has a double row configuration with space for 8 editorial & operational crew members.
This space is designed to be tailored to individual production requirements, equipped with a vision mixer, Riedel talkback panels, and monitor stack.
SCR2 has space for a Sound Supervisor, plus Sound Guarantee / Comms Engineer.
It is equipped with a digital audio mixer and Riedel Director enables custom configuration of talkback panels for each user.
The MCR has space for three engineers to monitor and support all systems within the Cymru Broadcast Centre.
They’re equipped with tools to monitor the quality of all signals entering, traversing and leaving the building, such as Telestream Wave Form Monitors and TSL Audio Monitoring Units.
The Edit Suites are equipped with high-end Apple Mac Studio M2 Ultra’s, running the full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
The Edit Suites are wired for talkback and video tie lines to connect with the rest of the facility.
The Production Office can be equipped with talkback, monitors and other equipment depending on individual production requirements.
A flexible space intended for additional operational roles such as EVS replay, which can work into either PCR.
The room has space for up to 11 operators, with positions equipped with KVM’s, Riedel talkback panels, monitors and router panels.
Accessibility
Our industry-leading, accessible working environment was designed alongside The Ability People.
Facilities
Facilities include a fully equipped changing spaces toilet, with powered hoist, shower, grab rails, alarm and privacy screen.
Access
Walkways are wide enough for wheelchair users and feature ramps, rather than steps. We have power assisted doors to our gallery and suites.
Signage
Attention has been given to the colours selected for branding and signage, while internal signs are displayed in braille.
Environment
Green has been used throughout the facility (including the kitchen area and toilets), to help generate a calming environment.
Layout
High colour contrast has been used throughout to identify obstacles and areas, such as door frames, walls and furniture.

Productions
The Broadcast Centre was opened ahead of the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Its creation for the Whisper / Channel 4 production leaves an incredible legacy in Wales.
